Improve Blackhall Primary School Playground Facilities - Petitions (Open)

We ask the council to provide our children with better outdoor play facilities at Blackhall Primary School. We believe they should build an all-weather multi-use games area in the school playground to ensure our children can exercise and play all year round. Blackhall Primary School's largest outdoor play space is currently in a very poor state. This is due to drainage issues which leaves the grass surface unusable during much of the school year. Part of the area is becoming a health and safety hazard, meaning that the children are currently unable to use much of this surface. There is limited other outdoor playground space and, in a school of almost 400 children, this means that space for play and sports is severely restricted. The parent body has fundraised for minor improvements to the outdoor space but the costs for more drastic improvement are prohibitively expensive and we believe that the council should be providing these through the education budget.
